With the rapid development of numerical control technology, machine tool industry technology has also developed rapidly. Among them, high speed machining of self-lubricating flanged bushings can effectively advance the machining power of the machine tool and shorten the machining cycle of the workpiece. This requires the machine tool spindle and its related components to meet the needs of high-speed machining.

Nowadays, CNC machine tool spindle bearings are basically limited to four types of structure: angular contact ball bearings, cylindrical roller bearings, two-way thrust angular contact ball bearings, and tapered roller bearings.

The characteristics that fine-angle touch ball bearings are commonly used for raw materials are:

First, touch fatigue strength. Under the effect of cyclically-loaded hydraulic bearings, bearings are susceptible to wear and tear on the touch surface, which means that cracks are removed. This is an important form of bearing damage. Therefore, the bearing steel must have a high touch fatigue strength in order to increase the service life of the forward bearing.

Second, wear-resistant features. In the bearing mission, rolling friction does not only occur between the rings, rolling elements and cages, but also the sliding friction occurs in the self-lubricating blocks, so that the bearing parts are always worn. In order to increase the wear of the bearing parts, maintain the stability of the bearing accuracy, and extend the service life, the bearing steel should have good wear resistance.

Third, hardness. Hardness is one of the important qualities of bearing quality and has a direct impact on the fatigue strength, wear resistance, and elastic limit of touch. The hardness of the bearing steel in the application case is to reach HRC61~65 individually, and the ability of the bearing to obtain high touch fatigue strength and wear resistance.

Fourth, anti-rust function. In order to prevent the bearing parts and products from being corroded and rusted in the process of processing, placement and use, it is imperative that the bearing steels should have excellent rust prevention capabilities.

Fifth, processing functions. Bearing parts in the consumption process, through many cold and hot processing processes, in order to meet the small amount of high-efficiency, high-quality entreaties, bearing steel should have outstanding processing capabilities. For example, cold and hot forming functions, cutting processing functions, hardenability and so on.

In addition to the above-mentioned requirements for the foundation, bearing steels should also meet the requirements of proper chemical composition, uniform external structure, low nonmetallic inclusions, external surface defects conforming to specifications, and surface decarburized layers not exceeding the concentration of the standard.
