Sliding bearing features and performance

Slide bearings run smoothly, reliably, with low noise or no noise. Under the conditions of liquid lubrication, the sliding surface is separated by lubricating oil without direct contact with the oil-free bearing, and the friction loss can be reduced to a great extent. The oil film has a certain vibration-absorbing ability, but the friction resistance during starting operation is large. The part where the shaft is supported by the bearing is called the journal, and the part that matches the journal is called the bearing. The friction-reducing material layer cast on its inner surface to improve the frictional properties of the pad surface is called a bearing lining. Bearing pads and bearing lining materials are collectively referred to as plain bearing materials.

Compliance

The bearing material compensates for the poor initial mating performance of the sliding surface by the elasto-plastic deformation of the surface layer (the compliance of soft elastic products is good, such as SF-1 compliance greater than JDB)
Wearability

Under the specified shaft material and specific lubricating oil conditions, after the initial running-in, a stable friction coefficient is ensured, and no seizure performance (good running-in of the product with short running-in period) (friction/wear curve) is ensured.
Embeddedness

The bearing material allows hard particles to be embedded, which reduces scratch or abrasive wear (soft material has better embedment than hard material, JF700 has better embedment than JF800). Shaft and bushing are in operation.
Under oil-lubricated conditions, the general shaft and bushings will operate in at least three states.
Dry friction

Friction between objects or between specimens without any lubricant.
Boundary lubrication

The critical state before the transition from liquid lubrication to dry friction (direct contact of friction pair surfaces).
Hydrodynamic lubrication
